Features
-
NAT32 gives all the other computer (PC, MAC, LINUX) on your private LANs
direct UDP, TCP and ICMP access to the Internet. NAT32 acts as the default
gateway for those computers, and can also act as a DNS Forwarder and DHCP Server.
-
NAT32 blocks all unsolicited traffic from the Internet. Even the Windows OS
on the NAT32 machine can be reliably isolated from unsolicited incoming traffic.
Unlike the Windows Firewall, NAT32 can also block outgoing traffic if desired.
-
NAT32 supports multiple VPN connections between your private computers and VPN
servers on the Internet or on the NAT32`computer itself.
-
The computer running NAT32 retains totally unmodified Internet access and will
therefore run all networking applications independently of NAT32. In fact, Windows on
the NAT32 computer itself knows nothing of the existence of NAT32.
-
Networking applications running on your other computers generally require no
reconfiguration, because they use NAT32 as a gateway, not as a proxy server.
-
NAT32 configures fully automatically if the machine has Internet connectivity and
its private LAN adapter is correctly configured. Before you configure NAT32, be sure you
can ping the Internet and each of your private machines.
-
NAT32 supports demand dialing and auto disconnect.
-
NAT32 fully supports the Windows 95/98/SE/ME Dial-Up Networking Server in TCP/IP Mode.
You can now set up an Internet-connected office computer to act as a Dial-In Server at
certain times of the day, giving all your home LAN machines full Internet access.
Your office computer continues to have unmodified TCP/IP access.
You no longer require an ISP: your office machine IS the ISP! No more monthly charges,
busy tones, time-restrictions or poor service!
-
NAT32 fully supports the Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 RAS Server in TCP/IP and NAT Mode.
-
NAT32 is a high-performance IP Router with added features such as IP Address Translation and Transparent Port Mapping. Tests have shown that it out-performs Windows ICS and many DSL Routers.
-
NAT32 is written entirely in C; no C++, C#, MFC or VB code is used and it does not rely on
Microsoft COM objects in any way. This ensures top performance and simplifies installation.
It also ensures that no other software can influence NAT32's behaviour in any way.
-
NAT32 works with all network adapters that expose a standard NDIS or NDISWAN interface to
the Windows OS. This includes 3G wireless services, all WiFi services, DSL, Cable and
Satellite Services, including those that use Windows Dial-Up Networking for the uplink.
NAT32 Home Edition has the following additional features:
- Network Trace window, with support for promiscuous mode and PPPoE mode.
-
Application window for easy configuration of special-purpose mappings for NAT-hostile applications.
-
Administration window to selectively throttle/allow/disallow private users' access
the Internet.
-
Input filtering mechanism which lets you block unwanted incoming traffic.
-
Support for Dynamic DNS, which enables servers running on your private machines to always
be found on the Internet, even if your IP address changes.
-
Powerful scripting support using an enhanced version of the Tool Command Language Tcl.
-
Supports one private LAN with any number of private computers.
-
Supports multiple, simultaneous Internet connections. Note that even Windows Vista
does not support this.
-
Routing by source address, protocol and ports allows specific machines or networks or applications to use specific Internet connections. Again, Windows Vista does not support this.
-
Any IP addressing scheme can be used on any private LAN. No renumbering of private machines is required.
- Fully compatible with Windows Internet Connection Sharing and Windows Firewall.
-
Can be run alongside Windows ICS to support additional private LANs and Internet connections.
NAT32 Professional Edition has the following additional features:
- Supports up to 8 private LAN adapters.
- Supports LANs behind private gateways.
- Designed for demanding users with a sound knowledge of TCP/IP principles. Because it is often
used in complex networks, the registration fee for the professional version includes a 90-day support and consultancy service.
