HOW TO view RSS (.xml) and RDF (.rdf) pages.
HOW TO view Podcasts.
Many web sites now provide short summary pages listing new content in the form of a specially formatted file stored at a fixed location. The idea is that the user need only fetch the summary page at regular intervals, check it for new content, and then view only the new material of interest.
The most common standard for this is the Rich Site Summary (RSS) specification Version 0.91, which is based on the Resource Description Framework (RDF) published by the W3 Consortium.
While the idea is simple (and useful), one major problem with it is that the summary pages are written in XML, which some Web Browsers don't support.
