NAME

ifn - interact with the Network Interface table

SYNOPSIS

ifn n [update | on | off] | [[ip mask gateway] [src] [src_mask]]
netcfgx n
netcfg n
nifs
gweth

DESCRIPTION

The ifn command with one argument n displays the complete Nif table for the specified interface.

If interface 0 is specified, the NAT32 Up Time (in ticks since startup) is displayed.

When invoked with the additional arguments, ifn either performs the specified operation or adjusts the specified values for the interface. The latter option should be used with caution, as NAT32 depends on valid interface details for correct operation.

Command netcfg displays the settings of the specified interface in a Windows dialog box.

Command netcfgx displays the settings file of a specified interface.

Command nifs prints the IP address, adapter name and Windows Connection Name for all NAT32 interfaces.

Command gweth resets the stored Ethernet address of each gateway on each NAT32 interface.

NOTES
One field of particular interest is the Trigger string. It holds details of the most recent packet that could trigger an Autodial. This string can be used within the dialup script to determine whether or not a DUN Connection should be established.

The following table lists abbreviations that can be used to specify certain interfaces:

ifnCurrent interface
ras | rRAS Server interface
tap | tTAP interface
aux | aAuxiliary interface
ba | bBackup interface
pPrimary interface
sSecondary interface
vVirtual WiFi interface
fWiFi interface
mMulticast interface
wWindows primary interface
